The Hamilton Branch of the Ukrainian Women’s Organization of Canada was founded in 1937.  The UWO was created to unite Ukrainian Canadians, around the objectives of preserving Ukrainian culture, working towards and maintaining a free Ukrainian homeland, as well as promoting good Canadian citizenship. We support many charitable causes both in Canada and Ukraine.

Currently, we have monthly meetings. Our main fundraisers are a Pysanka Bingo and sales of pyrohy and holubtsi.  At this time, we have been collecting clothing, and medical and hygiene supplies.  Much of what we have collected has been sent to Ukraine.  The rest of the donations will be for those Ukrainians who have fled Ukraine and are in need of assistance here in the Hamilton area.
